At the heart of the MD-7500-HD is a set of three air-cooled eddy current power absorbers. Each absorber, or brake, can hold up to 600-hp (total power of 1,800-hp) – more than enough to simulate a fully loaded transit bus. As the systems PAU’s (brakes) are air-cooled, no water is required to or from the device – eliminating the high cost of water consumption and/or the cost of an expensive water recovery system – which can sometimes exceed the cost of the dynamometer system itself. Mustang is the only company that offers a Universal Fleet Test Bed without water supply requirements. AC Motors can be added to simulate regeneration and validate range for organizations that have transitioned to carbon free electric propulsion. Built for reliability as well as precision, the P300L features leadscrew – leadnut stage and platen drives, a stainless steel platen with removable front wedge and high stability microscope bridge that supports all high resolution long-working distance microscopes.The P300L ‘s versatile controller supports USB and GPIB communications (configured with proper options). The stage X-Y and platen (Z) are motorized / programmable. Microscope motorized / programmable control is also an option.
